There's a lot of evidence that strong communities have less crime and survive disasters better. Here's an example: the environment film maker Judith Helfand is making a film about a massive heat wave in Chicago in 1995 that killed about six hundred people. She explains that the victims had one thing in common: they were socially isolated. They didn't have friends or family or trusted neighbors to notice that they hadn't been out of their house lately, or to check that their air conditions were working well. In fact, three quarters of Americans don't know their neighbors. Judith argues that the best way to prevent deaths from future heat waves is not having a policy of handing out discount air conditioner coupons, but providing community-building activities that strengthen social ties throughout the year.

- Delayed obedience leads to the enemy's temptation and God's discipline (cf. Psalm 32) and immediate obedient leads to God's blessing (James 1:25)

- Our bodies and lives must be living sacrifices (rom 12:1)- pain is common to true worship. Be careful of complaining during trials (PHil 2:14 ,1 THess 5:18, Cor 12:9-`10). wHat is your typical attitude when god's test you?

7. In order to pass god's tests, we must have faith (v.4-8)

- Faith is necessary to please god and to pass the test (Heb 11:6). Are you trusting God in your trial ?

8. In order to pass god's tests,  we must depend on others (v.9, 10)

- To pass god's test, we often need the help of others (cf. Phil 1:19)

9. In order to pass god's tests, we must understand his purpose of revealing what is in our hearts (v. 11, 12)

- Tests reveal what is in our hearts ( 1 peter 1:6-7, Matt 13:21, Deut 8:2) What has God revealed about your heart through tests and trials? ?

10. In order to pass god's tests, we must depend on god (v. 13, 14)

- 1 Cor 10:13, He always provides a way of escape; Therefore, we must draw near to God and trust him in trials (James 4:8, John 15:5, Phil 1:19)

11. In order to pass god's tests,  we must understand his purpose of revealing more of himself to Us (v. 14)

- God has new names, he wants to reveal to you through your tests - new characteristics.

12. In order to pass god's tests,  WE must Focus on God's Reward( 15-18) - After job faithfully persevered through his trials, God rewarding him with a double blessing. 

Similarly, through trials, God equips us for ministry (2 Cor 1:3-4) and rewards us in heaven ( 2 Cor 4:17-18)

13. In order to pass god's tests, we must seek to magnify christ (Gen 22)

- How does Isaac resemble Christ in this text ?

-God's purpose in tests and trials is for us to look like Christ as well ( cf. Rom 8:28-29, Phil 1:20-21). How can you look like Christ in your trial?

고등학교 때 삶을 잊지 못하는데 잊혀져 간다.

친구도 없이 매일 독서실에 박혀서 공부만 했다.

등하교 시간에 시간이 아까워서 버스 정류장까지 매번 뛰었다. 

버스 안에서는 MP3 이어폰을 꽂고, 영어 듣기를 복습했다.

교내에서는 친구가 없어서 밥도 혼자 먹고, 점심시간에 휴식을 취하면서 잠을 자거나, 독서를 했다.

누구도 알고 싶지 않았다. 그냥 내 할일만 잘 하고 싶었다. 인정받고, 유명해지고 이런거 필요 없었다. 그냥 내 할일만 잘 했으면 됐다.

오전 6시 기상 6시반 등교 7시 학교 도착, 공부 오후 5시 하교. 5시 30분 독서실 도착, 공부, 7시 편의점 혹은 밥버거, 끼니 때우기, 12시 혹은 1시 까지 공부

이전에는 말도 많고, 활동적이었던 애가 하루에 말이 많으면 두 세마디 하니 정말 힘들었다. 이렇게 공부해도 모든 과목에서 100점 맞기는 정말 어려우니..

뭐 그냥 힘들게 힘들게 살았다.

그런데 얼마 전에 학원에 열심히 다니고 공부도 잘하는 중학생이 되고 고등학생이 되는 조카들의 영어 책들을 보았다.

이들도 race 중이다. kids, these days, are running and running, don't even know what they are doing and why.

너무 역겹기도 하고, 힘든 것은 당연한 것이고. 그런데 지금 이렇게 공부한다고 해서 당장 편안한 삶이 보장 되는 것도 아니니 정말 힘들겠다. 물론 나도 마찬가지.

대한민국 인문계 학사 중 졸업 후 취업률은 40% 내외.

공무원 경쟁률은 300 : 1 초과.

서울대 졸업생도 요즘은 9급 시험 봄.

연고대는 이전부터 많이 응시 중. 서연고 많은 인문계 학생들이 5급을 준비하지만, 되는 사람은 당연히 많이 없다.

국내 청년창업률은 7% 미만

대기업 평균 근속연수 11년

공무원 평균 근속연수 27년

중소기업 입사하면 주말 없음, 평일 오후 없음, 연봉 3000만원 미만, 법을 지키는 중소기업을 찾기 어려움.

집, 전세 찾기 어려움. 

그렇다고 공대생들이라고 취업이 잘 되나? 사실 그런것도 아니다. 공대생들이 인문계생들 보다 비교적으로 취업률이 높고, 모집 인원수가 많은 것이지, (잘되는 것은 사실이지만, 모두에게 쉽다고 하는 것은 잘못된 것이다.)

사랑니 발치하는 날. 어쩔 수 없이 일정이 많아져서 하루에 2개의 사랑니를 모두 뽑기로 했다. 사랑니 두개 모두 아래에 매복치 80도 혹은 더 이상 꺾인 치아 이다. 나는 걱정이 항상 많은 편이다. 그래서 유튜브에 how to pull tooth of wisdom을 검색하고 동영상을 보면서 끔찍하다라는 생각을 했다. 보는 동안 정말 너무 무서웠다. 왜냐하면 거주지역 내 치과를 4곳이나 방문했는데 나의 사랑니를 뽑을 기계나 실력이 안된다는 것이다. 서울대 출신 의사를 방문했는데도 그랬다. 그래서 서울로 가서 닥터노아치과 라는 곳을 방문했다. 이곳 역시 서울대 출신 의사가 대표이다. 이곳에서 상담을 하고 다음날 바로 발치를 했다. 대부분 발치를 하기 전 마취가 굉장히 아프고 사랑니를 뽑을 때 아프다고 하지만 이 곳에서는 전혀 아프지 않았다. 물론 마취가 풀리고 출혈 되기 때문에 고통스럽지만 이 것은 생각보다 고통은 덜 했다. 닥터노아치과는 일반적인 치광하 굉장히 다른 분위기의 치과이다. 치과에서 노래도 나오고 가운을 입는 사람도 없고 상당히 자유스러운 분위기다. 그리고 의사선생님도 대단히 실력이 있고 굉장히 젊어서 대화의 차질도 없었고 좋았다. 굳. 

결론 : 1. 사랑니 발치 하는 동안은 전혀? 안아픔

2. 수술이 끝나고 거즈를 다물고 집에 가서 쉬려고 하면 마취시간(4시간)이 끝나기 때문에 아픔.. 발치 후 즉시 수면 추천

3. 마취가 풀린 당일 날만 아픈 것이 아님. 잇몸을 실로 꼬맨 부위가 다음날 부터 아플 수 있음.. 밥먹을 때 잇몸 건드리면 겁나 아픔.. 죽 혹은 알로에 추천...

4. 말이 많은 편이라면 이 참에 말 줄여보는 것 추천.. 만약 밖에 나가서 싸움이 생기거나 시비가 붙으면 짜증도 나고 잇몸은 더욱더 고통스러워짐..
