Day 15: Lombard Street(롬바드 스트리트) and 'Full House' Houses(풀 하우스)

 캘리포니아 날씨는 화창하기로 유명하다고 했는데 내가 샌프란시스코에 있을 동안은 비가 엄청나게 쏟아졌다. 어떻게 4일 연속 비가 올 수 있는 것인가.

 California weather is famous for being sunny, but it rained heavily while I was in San Francisco. How can it rain for four consecutive days?

 

Uphill to the Lombard Street

 롬바드 스트리트(Lombard Street)로 올라갈 때 길을 헤매려야 헤맬 수가 없다. 왜냐하면 본인 외에 다른 사람들이 다 올라가고 있을 것이다.

 You can't get lost when you go up to Lombard Street. Because other people besides yourself are probably going up.

 

Chinese Tourists

 중국인 단체 관광이 버스를 타고 약 50명이 롬바드 스트리트 앞에서 내렸다. (중국인이 내리자마자 엄청 시끄러워졌다).

 Chinese group tours (about 50 people) got off from a tour bus in front of Lombard Street. (Super noisy). Why Chinese people cannot be quiet?

 

Lombard Street

 관광지라고 해서 왔는데 막상 이게 무엇인가 싶었다. 이게 뭐라고 사람들이 오는 것일까. 감흥이 안 생겼다.

  I came here because I heard it was a tourist destination, but I wondered what it was. What does this mean? I'm not impressed.

 아래에서 구경할 때 보다 위에서 경치 구경이 차라리 더 나은 것 같다.

Burger King

 버거킹에서 행사 버거를 2개 시켜서 먹었다. 샌프란시스코 식당에서 먹으면 최소 $17 + Tax + Tip = $ 23 정도 되는데 저렇게 버거 두 개를 먹어도 $12이다. 음식 먹는 것도 여행이긴 한데 하루 두 끼만 식당에서 먹으면 여행 예산이 부족하게 된다. 비가 와서 무엇을 해야 되나 먹으면서 계속 생각했던 것 같다.

 

 그렇게 결정한 곳은 'Full House' Houses이다. Full House 드라마? 영화?를 본 적은 한 번도 없지만 그래도 어디라도 가야지라는 생각으로 도착했다. 내가 다음에 미국 여행을 하면 샌프란시스코는 다시 안 올 것 같다.

 I don't think I'll go to San Francisco next time I travel to America.

 나름 당연한 표지판이다. 안 지키는 사람들이 있기 때문에 이런 것이 있겠지요?

 

Full House Houses

 집들이 아름다워서, 드라마에 나온 촬영지여서 관광객들이 이 곳에 찾아온다고 알고 있다.

  I heard many tourists visit this place because the houses are beautiful and it's the filming location of the drama. 

 

It rained cats and dogs on the day.

 비가 너무 많이 온다.. 날씨만 좋았더라면 이 곳도 괜찮은 관광지였을텐데 날씨가 나의 여행을 망쳤다.

 It rained too much. If the weather had been good, this place would have been a good tourist destination, too, but the weather ruined my trip.
