Why Working at GS25 is hard. GS25 알바가 힘든 이유

These jobless and hopeless alcoholic people come to where I used to work at every day. What they do was buying a few bottles of Soju and drink with their friends for a few minutes. They used to finish a couple of Soju bottles in less than 5 minutes. I did not like them much because they have never cleaned up what they ate outside of the GS25. One day they stole some stuffs and got caught by my eyes and called the cops. Eventually a few of them were sentenced to a fine for theft. I do not understand why they always come out of their house and make crimes around the hood. I just do not understand them. 위에 직업이 없는 할아버지들이 매번 내가 일하는 편의점에 와서 술을 마시곤 했다. 일할 때 저들을 엄청 싫어했는데 이유는 저렇게 항상 마시고는 절대 치우지 않는다. 가끔은 편의점에 와서 물건을 훔치기도 하고 항상 편의점을 어질러 놓는다.

This is a receipt that paid all free products during promotion period. I hated when CVS (GS25) had promotion event or something. Of course, it is very good for customers but once you have worked at CVS you know how it feels like during the event period. Since too many people come to the place to get their benefit that provided by CVS, staffs goin cray. 편의점 이벤트 기간 동안은 사람이 너무 많이 오고 편의점에서는 혼자서만 일하니까 혼자서 다 하기에는 너무 힘들다.

야간 편돌이 식사 시간

  편돌이 하면서 좋았던 점이라면 매일 유통기한이 지난 음식을 무료로 / 공짜로 먹을 수 있었다. 점장이 착해서 마음대로 먹게 해줬다. 가끔은 점장이 퇴근할 때 김밥 같은 걸 챙겨주기도 했다. 위에 사진은 필자가 근무했던 편의점에서는 치킨이랑, 튀김 꼬치 음식을 팔았는데 거의 매일 팔리지 않아서 남았다. 그런 음식을 매일 먹을 수 있엇다. 정말 좋았다. 평소에 편의점에 가면 돈이 아까워서 못 먹던 음식을 마음껏 그것도 공짜로 먹을 수 있어서 행복했다. 그런데 야간근무를 하루에 9시간 10시간 씩 하면 머리가 아파올 때가 종종 있다. 그 이유가 아마 몸에 안 좋은 튀긴 음식을 매일 먹어서 그런게 아닐까 라는 생각도 해봤다. 근무를 하다 보면 코피가 나기도 하는데 몸에 영양소가 부족해서 그럴 수도 있겠다 싶어서 병원에 가서 진료도 받고 얼마 안되어서 편의점 야간을 그만두긴 했다. 뭐 하여튼 편의점에서 일하면 다른 알바 보다 특혜가 많다. 재밌었다ㅋㅋㅋ. There are a few perks you can have if you work at CVS in Korea. The first one that I used to love to have was eating expired foods for free. I used to be excited every time when I off to work because I knew there is always leftover foods that I could eat for free. I had to work 8 hours or 9 hours a day every day and sometimes I had nosebleed. And I guess why I had nosebleed quite often is because the nutrient in my body got worse, eating CVS foods. I could see my health became bad radically and I quitted.

24시 편의점 유제품 매출 분석

  GS25에서는 유통기한이 24시간인 상품을 줄여서 FF 라고 부른다. 이유는 Fresh Food 라는 뜻을 가졌기 때문이다. FF는 삼각김밥, 김밥, 도시락, 햄버거 등등 이런 상품들이다. 그래서 회사 주변, 학교 주변에서 인기가 많다. 학교 주변 편의점에서는 FF 로만 하루에 매출이 500,000 원이 넘어간다. 

FF의 장점과 단점이라고 한다면 장점은 가장 인기가 많은 상품이고, 단점은 24시간 내에 판매하지 못할 때에는 전적으로 점주 손해가 되어 버린다. 그리고 음식물 쓰레기 처리도 직접 해야 하고 혹여나 유통기한 지난 상품을 판매했을 때는 법적 문제로 넘어갈 수도 있으니 판매할 때에도 주의해야 한다. 일반 아파트 주변 편의점에서는 FF 하루 매출이 300,000 원 ~ 400,000 원 선이다. 만약 이 정도도 유지 못한다면 곧 문 닫는다는 소리와 다름이 없다. FF가 곧 편의점 상품이기 때문. 이상이다. FF 전략을 제대로 해야 한다. 필자가 근무했던 편의점은 학교 주변이어서 FF를 하루 두 번 할 정도로 인기가 많았다. 하루 GS25 FF 매출은 300,000 원 선을 유지했다. 하지만 편의점 10년을 못하고 얼마 가지 않아 망했다. 망한 이유는 다음편에서 작성해보려고 한다.

2019. 04.22 알바하면서 돈 벌던 시절

  오랜만에 Naver Cloud 네이버 클라우드에서 사진을 뒤져 보다가 알바를 하던 시절 사진을 찾았다. 알바를 하면서 얼마나 지치고 피곤했으면 이렇게 코피를 흘리고 있었을까. 이 때는 피가 나도 힘든 티를 안내고 코 막고 일을 했다. 정말 열심히 살았던 것 같다.

  These pictures I have taken are when I was doing part time job at CVS (GS25) as a night time staff. I used to work 6 days a week and I bet I was very exhausted at the time. Even though I watch these pictures I can't believe the fact that I kept working clogging my nose holes. I think there would be no one who says I am not diligent or something.  When I took this picture I really needed money badly. Of course it was not easy to live day and night oppositely working as a night time staff at 24 hours CVS. I don't miss the moment but it reminds me that I am supposed to be goofy and I gotta work hard.

내가 몇 년 전에 편의점 알바를 하는데 가끔 다음 근무자로 점장이 나왔다. 점장이 나오는 날은 시간약속을 전혀 지키지 않는다. 정말 화가 났다. 그런데 어느 날은 자기 매장이면서 담배를 피면서 들어와서 진짜 깜짝 놀랐다. 심지어 편의점 안에 손님이 없었던 것도 아니었다. 이건 사진으로 남겨야지 하고 다음 근무 왔을때 몰래 CCTV 뚫고 사진 찍어서 남겼다. 이걸 보면서 40대, 50대는 어렸을 적에 공중도덕을 잘 못 배웠었나 이런 생각이 들었다. When I worked for CVS a few years ago, sometimes the owner came to the workplace without notice. I was so surprised when he came to the workplace smoking around in the CVS. I could not believe that seeing in real. I was like "What is inside of 40s and 50s head?"

지금 보고도 믿을 수가 없다.
