☀ Instead of using you, he, she, or they, use titles (such as brother, sister, teacher.. etc). ☀
- 'I' and 'We' are used often.
# 안녕하세요. 저는 샌디예요. 저는 학생이예요.
Hello. My name is Sandy. I am a student.
# 안녕하세요. 저는 김혜나이예요. 저는 선생님이예요.
Hi. I am Hyena Kim and I am a teacher.
Formal
I = 저 / I am 저는
We = 저희 / We are = 저희는
Informal
I = 나 / I am = 나는
We = 우리 / We are = 우리는
❤ IMPORTANT ❤
선생님
ㄴ, ㅇ, ㅁ are the '받침'(Bottom Consonants). We only count the last '받침' when we conjugate.
✅ No 받침 - Add '는' for 'words with no 받침'
# 저는 지나예요. I am Gina.
# 우리는 친구예요. We are friends.
✅ 받침 - Add '은' for 'words with 받침'
# 서울은 어디예요? Where is Seoul?
# 핸드폰은 얼마예요? How much is the phone?
☀ You have to finish the sentences with '예요' or '이예요' if there's a noun. ☀
✅ No 받침 - Add '예요' when the word does not have a '받침' at the end of it.
# 저는 혜나예요. I am Hyena. // 혜나예요? Are you Hyena?
# 우리는 친구예요. We are friends. // 친구예요? Is he/she your friend?
# 카메라예요. It's a camera. // 카메라예요? Is it a camera?
✅ 받침 - Add '이에요' when the word has a '받침' at the end of it.
# 저는 학생이에요. I'm a student // 학생이예요? Are you a student?
# 여름이에요. It's summer. // 여름이에요? Is it summer?
☀ When speaking, we make things shorter. For example in English, I am = I'm, We are = We're ☀
- 저는 = 전, 나는 = 난, 저희는 = 저흰, 우리는 = 우린
