Day 3: Small Village in Kandy City, Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka' Calendar

Can you sense that your country's calendar is different from that of Sri Lanka? If you have not noticed the difference between the Sri Lankan calendar and your country's calendar, I hope you will look at your calendar once more and read this article. It's just a little different, but it's different from my country's calendar so I took a picture of it.

To be honest, Sri Lanka is not a fun country to travel. Everywhere I go, people who look the same are trying to sell something to foreigners. It was okay once or twice, but it was unpleasant that Sri Lankan merchants were trying to sell things in a language I do not understand anywhere and anytime. The bigger problem is that even if I say it is okay, they anyway keep doing it.

Red Tuk Tuk

This is Tuktuk. I had first Tuk Tuk ride in Sri Lanka. When you try to catch a Tuk Tuk, you should look its appearance carefully so you can check if it has any broken parts or if its tires are okay. Because as you can see the front tire of the Tuk Tuk, its tires were badly worn as if these are going to be flat tires. There are not as many traffic lights in Sri Lanka as your country, and no seat belts in Tuk Tuk. You've got to be careful all the time.

And Never catch a Tuk Tuk on the road. Call it by Pick Me App. If you catch a Tuk Tuk on the road then a driver costs you three times more than it should be. If you use, however, the app it automatically costs you according to its algorithm.

A lof of fruit.  SALIYA FRUITS; All kind of fruits & Vegetables Suppliers. Go try here if you visit Kandy soon :)

A lot of small watermelons. I am wondering if people really buy watermelons often because these are about two hundreds and where I stayed was very small village. Sri Lanka is cheap in fruit and it is really plentiful. To be honest, I don't want to say anything about its taste.

Day1: Sri Lanka, Colombo International Airport

Day 2: Colombo, Sri Lanka to Kandy City Centre

Day 2: Colombo, Sri Lanka to Kandy City Centre (2)

Day 2: Colombo, Sri Lanka to Kandy City Centre (2)

The construction workers were working in front of the market. But what's interesting is that they were working on it without a fence. What I felt in Sri Lanka was that people have good eyesight and they wear a pair of flip flops every day. Korea should be more careful because it is a country where the personal principle is applied. Or maybe I'm the only one who's so sensitive about this.

There are many bags, but they are all fake. And it's dirty because there's a lot of dust on it. Of course because it's on display outside for 24 hours a day. Don't buy fakes. Buying fakes is a crime, and selling fakes is a crime too.

Stepping out of the authentic market and walking a little upward, you will see a shopping mall-like building. Bag, shoes, clothes, hats, chargers, etc. There was a lot of stuff, but there wasn't a price tag at all. You really need to be careful when you visit a store without a price tagI could see a lot of people from the West. I heard that Westerners like to travel to Asia. Sri Lankan merchants know they have a lot of money and try to cheat.

Many Sri Lankan merchants spoke Korean, butI thought it was more foolish to buy things at a stupid price simply because they knew how to speak Korean. Frankly, there was no what I wanted to buy specially. I wanted to buy something that represents Sri Lanka at the proper price. But the merchants tried to sell me a T-shirt for $50 = 8,000 lkr, so I just decided not to buy it.

Phone Chager

I kept going around the market to buy a phone charger, but there was no phone charger and there was a phone 'CHAGER' so I did not buy it. If you look like a foreigner and not a SriLankan, you need to be careful when look aroundMany merchants will be talking to you to sell just because you are a foreigner.

Day1: Sri Lanka, Colombo International Airport

Day 2: Colombo, Sri Lanka to Kandy City Centre

Since English is not my mother tongue, there may be many wrong parts in the article. If you find the wrong point, let me know via comment. Thank you. If there is anyone who wants me to write in Korean, please let me know. I am studying English while writing in English. So please understand.
