The Oklahoma City Thunder have made another roster move prior to theNBA playoffs. Two-way guard Deonte Burton has been signed to a multi-year deal, converting him to a full NBA contract. Although not a surprising move by the Thunder, it is a move that will benefit both parties.

The Oklahoma City Thunder(오클라호마씨티 썬더스)는 NBA 플레이오프 시즌 이전에 로스터를 변경했다. Two-way(NBA G-League와 NBA에 구단의 재량에 따라 두 리그에서 플레이할 수 있는 계약) 계약이 되었던 가드 Deonte Burton 디온테 버튼은 완전한 NBA 리그 선수가 되면서 몇년 계약을 했다. 썬더스 팀에 놀랄만한 일은 아니지만 디온테 버튼과 팀에게 모두 좋은 성사이다.

Burton, a 25-year-old rookie, played 2 years of college basketball at Marquette University followed by 2 years at Iowa State University. After being undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft, he was signed by the Minnesota Timberwolves but waived shortly after being signed. Burton then played a short stint in South Korea, followed by the Thunder signing him to a two-way contract in July of 2018.

Burton has shown enough promise this season to be promoted to a full NBA contract after playing on his two-way contract for the majority of the season. For the Oklahoma City Thunder this season, he has averaged 3.1 points per game in just 8.7 minutes per game. He also shoots 33.3% from three. In his time away from the Thunder, Burton has been a huge contributor for the Thunder G-League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue. With the Blue he has appeared in 24 games, averaging 16.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per contest.

With no lack of confidence, Burton plays energetic and is not afraid to attack on the offensive end. With his physical frame, Burton has the potential to be a great rebounding guard and be a versatile defender.

This is another move in the right direction for the Thunder. With this signing, the Thunder now have 7 bench players as well as all 5 starters signed through next season, assuming player options are picked up. This puts them in a situation where they can be in win-now mode while still setting themselves up for the future. The Oklahoma City Thunder have proven to have a great player development program, with Burton being the most recent success.

Although details of Burton's contract have yet to be released, it will be a very cheap contract for Oklahoma City. It also will be a massive pay increase for Burton, who currently has a G-League base salary of $77,250. As the Thunder seek wing depth, this is a win-win situation as both sides will benefit from this signing. Burton will fill Oklahoma City's 14th full NBA roster spot, leaving them with one open spot they can look to fill prior to the playoffs.

오클라호마씨티 썬더스와 버튼의 구체적인 계약 내용이 발표된 것은 없지만, 오클라호마에게는 가성비 좋은 계약일 것이다. 그리고 디온테 버튼에게는 연봉 인상이 있었을 것이다.
